Matthew 20:12

saying, “These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.

This story in Matthew 20, tells of a landowner who went out early and hired workers for a denarius, which was a Roman coin, and was a days wages. He also went out later in the day and hired more workers for a denarius, and again much later in the day, he hired more workers for a denarius. And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard told his foreman to pay the workers beginning with the last to the first.

The workers that were hired last received a full denarius for their wages causing quite a bit of anger from those that had been hired first. Their anger being that they had worked all day, and those that had worked only and hour or so received the same wage.

This story reminded me of my Dad, who had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of seventy five. While I had asked Jesus Christ at a much earlier age, my Dad received the same promise from the savior as I did. God did not say that Dad nor I had to call upon Him at a certain age or hour. Being a Christian for one day for for 50 years the promise is the same. All we have to do is believe, and we will spend eternity with Him.

If you have not asked the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, it is never to late. The promise of eternal life is still available to those that call upon His name, and believe.
