John 14:1-3

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you for Myself: that where I am, there you may be also.

We had gone for a drive this last week, and because we were taking a drive unfamiliar to us, we came to a dirt road at the end of the pavement. As we pulled off to the side of the pavement we got out of the car. It was a nice warm day, and as we listened to the birds sing in the trees, and felt the gentle breeze rustling the leaves, it created a song that blended with the beautiful songs of the birds.

As we stood there, I was reminded of those that don’t plan for life after death. It is like a road to nowhere, and how people are caught up in the trip, not the destination. They enjoy all the pleasures of life, but no plan for when the trip is over.  As a squirrel scampered up a tree, I thought to myself “I’m glad I know my destination and it’s paved all the way.

John 6:47

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
