-Luke 13:18-19

Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? Jesus told them it is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden: and it grew, and waxed into a great tree: and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches.

Jesus tells us, that the man took it and planted it. He then told the man that the seed took root, and grew until it was big enough for the birds to build nests in it. He used this small little seed, and it ability to grow and provide shelter for the birds, as a important lesson that we all need to take note of.

The kingdom of God is the seed that is planted. The garden is you and I, and we need to remember that as the seed is planted in our hearts, we need to be planting daily from His word. If we will allow even the smallest glimpse of the things of God to take root in our lives, then growth is guaranteed. It will grow, and will keep growing, not just to the point where we are sustained, but to the point where He will us us to touch the lives of others.
