Truly I say to you, “today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
There were two thieves’ on either side of Jesus on the Cross. One rebuked and mocked Him, while the other asked him, “do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?
He then said to Jesus; remember me when you come into your Kingdom. To which Jesus replied “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
As I read this scripture, I thought of a person I knew, who also when witnessed too said “I told God, if he would leave me alone, I would leave him alone.”
Today that person is crippled with Alzheimer, and does not know his children, wife or friends that he has had all his life. He sits in a chair and stares out of his window all day.
My heart goes out to him, and I wonder if he ever asked Jesus to come into his heart, and at death, went to be with him in Heaven, or will he spend eternity in Hades, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, separated from a merciful and loving God.
