Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new.
Do you have “what ifs” or “if only”, or anything else that is in the past? We need to be intentional about moving forward, and leaving these in the past. We have all had bumpy roads, regrets and stress, and it can be emotionally difficult to let go of these things.
We can ask God to help us carry these burdens of the past that trouble us. We experience regret in life, and experiences in life that may not always be pleasant, and sometimes difficult BUT we learn and grow from those things. Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose”. (ESV)
When driving a vehicle we look forward in order to see where we are going. We do not look in the rearview mirror to see where we are going, just as life cannot advance forward if we are stuck looking back. Pray and pray often. Seek God’s help to overcome the troubles that beset us, and lean on His strength and love.
