James 1:13

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

This scripture reminds me of Adam and Eve in the garden, where Eve was tempted by the serpent to eat of the fruit of the tree, that, they were told by God not to eat.

The temptation to Eve was the downfall of mankind. She not only took the fruit and ate of it, but also Adam who was with her ate of the fruit.

The temptation was not the sin, but it was willingness to take of the forbidden that created the sin.

We are in temptation every day, but we also have a will not to sin.  Once we allow ourselves to fall into the temptation, then we have sinned against our Heavenly Father.
