“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
“Jesus Christ willingly became the substitute for mans sins.”
As I read this verse in scripture, my thoughts went back to another verse, where God told Abraham to take his only son to offer as a sacrifice. Hebrews 11:17. Because of his belief, and faith in God he took his only son Isaac to be that sacrifice, but God provided a substitute. A ram, which is a male sheep, caught in a thicket, and was offered instead of Isaac.
In Genesis 2:15-17 The Lord God told Adam he could eat of any tree in the garden, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil he was not to eat from, or he would surly die. Eve was then created, and she being tempted ate of the tree. Adam ate also and they hid themselves because the realized they were naked.
In my mind a thought came of how in Genesis 3:21, scripture reads: And the Lord made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.
There is no scripture to confirm my thoughts, but was this the first sacrifice for mans sins? Did God kill a lamb to cover them, and if so, did Adam and Eve watch as it was slain, to show them what death was, and how their disobedience resulted in that death?
