John 4:13

Jesus answered and said unto her, whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst the again.

As I read this scripture, my mind went to a feral cat that lives in our barn. We live in the country, and our irrigation water comes down the canal starting about April 15th, and goes off around September 15th. All during the winter months, I bring food and water to this cat.

He is not social at all, but waits at a distance until I put the food and water in the dish that I set out for him. When I leave he will approach dish. He has a choice to either eat of the food and drink the water, or go hungry or thirsty.

We are also in some ways like that feral cat. The water is available, but there must be a thirst. We must realize that we need Jesus Christ in our lives, otherwise we go through life with a thirst that cannot be quenched until we call upon Him, to forgive us of our sins, and pray and ask Him to come into our heart as our Lord and Savior.

He will not force Himself upon you, He just stands at the door of your heart and waits.
