2 Samuel 22:33

God is my strong fortress; He has made my way safe. ( NLT )

Jesus speaks to us every day.  You may be wondering, “When?  How many times do you hear Him speak?” I remember one day that my husband and I were driving to town to get my prescriptions. Everything that could go wrong that day did. We were about 10 minutes late getting started. Just before arriving, we came upon a bad accident.  If we had left on time, we could have been involved in that accident.  This was Jesus telling us not to leave yet.  He doesn’t speak out loud, but He is talking to you with a quiet manner throughout a situation.  Jesus is always with us and knows everything that is going on around us now and in the future.  He never leaves us; we are the ones that take our eyes off Jesus and walk away.  He is always there, waiting for us to return to Him.  He loves and cares so much that He wants to protect us by being our fortress—the strong one we depend on in our weakest moments.

Hebrews 13:5 Jesus says: “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” How many times do we go to Jesus first in times of trouble?  Do we sometimes go to our friends or spouses first, before Jesus?
