James 2:18

But someone may well say, “You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

Can anyone see your faith?

We have a problem similar to what Jesus encountered. We proclaim something that no one can see. For Jesus it was forgiveness of sins. No one could see the forgiveness of sins or determine Jesus identity by His verbal claim to do so. Likewise, no one can identify us by our verbal claim to have faith.

My old Pastor used to say that: “We are an open book to those that do not believe.”

Jesus rectified His situation by performing visible miracles. The only way we can rectify ours is by our visible works.

Good works are a fruit and not a root of our salvation.
