The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid.
I was told a story of a young boy who was afraid of the dark. He livid on a farm quite a ways from town, and with no indoor plumbing, they had to use an out-house that was set about 50 ft from the house. The boy told his father of his fear, and with a loving heart, the father handed the boy a lantern, telling him that if he had to go out in the night, that he was to light the lantern, and to follow the light. He told him that as long as he followed the light, that he would not be afraid.
So it is with us, when we are walking in the light of the Lord things are more relaxed, the paths are obvious and we are not fearful. Then there are those days, when we have slipped from the light of the Lord and are falling behind in the shadows. These are the days that we become anxious, and the pressures of life began to build so fast, that before the day is over, we feel fearful from all the pressures.
When we wake up in the morning, ask the Lord to be with us throughout the day, and with Him beside us, we are not afraid of the shadows.
