In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
I have had people tell me there is no God, and therefore no Word. They have even gone so far as to say, “If we got rid of religion, this world would be a better place.”
As I listened to this, my mind went to my husband and I being in a crowded room, and if I was across the room from him, and he spoke to someone, I would know it was him by his voice. I know his voice, just as he knows mine, and would recognize it.
Reading the Bible we hear God’s voice, and when someone misinterprets the scripture, we immediately know that this is not the voice of God.
In John 1:3 scripture tells us: all things came into being by Him and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. Psalms 33:9 says: For He spoke and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast.
We can rid the world of religion, take away our Bibles, and forbid us from being able to congregate together, but as long as there is a world, someone will know the Word of God and repeat it.
1st Peter 1:25 But the Word of the Lord abides forever.
