Psalm 55:6

And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

As I sat in the cancer unit to get my shot for the week, I noticed a flock of doves that had settled on the roof of the building, next to the one I was in. The day was beautiful with a slight breeze, and the temperature around 65 degrees. The sun was out, and I could see people setting on benches , and visting with passerby’s.

My thoughts went to those birds, and how God had formed them down to the smallest feathers, and how each one of them had a distinct song that praised the Creator. How they were free to rise up and fly to a different location,, not held like I was every Friday.

All of a sudden, those doves rose up into the air, as if on cue, they darted to the left, and then to the right, being in sync to one another. I looked for a leader that was causing this, and finding none, my mind went to an unseen creator that guided their flight.

I said to myself! Oh that I had wings like a dove, for then would I fly away

We as children of a Mighty God and Savior, have this ability to be in sync with one another, just as those doves. If we read his word daily, and follow His directions, we also have a place of rest, when our time on earth comes to and end.
